TECHNICAL SELF-TAPE INSTRUCTIONS

TECHNICAL INSTRUCTIONS:
  • Framing: Record your audition in the landscape / horizontal position (Sideways) NOT VERTICAL
  • Lighting: Film your audition in a well-lit area. Your light source should come from behind the camera, not from behind you.
  • Background: Find an uncluttered area to film in where we can see you clearly. Ideally against a neutral backdrop.
  • Audio: Record your audition in a private, quiet space with no other loud or distracting noises.

WARDROBE INSTRUCTIONS:

  • Please dress business formal but with some personality. Think "hip design firm."

For more detailed recommendations on how to create a great self-tape, go to www.ironmountaincasting.com/self-tape-faqs

SLATE / INTRODUCTION VIDEO:

Frame yourself in camera so you can be seen from head to toe or as close as possible if your space limits your framing.
Look directly into the camera and answer the below questions.
If you have a slate recorded RECENTLY that reflects your current look and is similar to the below, feel free to use it.
1. What is your full name?
2. How tall are you?
3. Where are you located?
4. Are you represented by a talent agent? If so, who?

If you have glasses on, please take them off briefly and smile.

After you answer all questions smile with your teeth and then show us your side profiles.

SCENES:

FRAMING: Frame yourself in camera so you can be seen from the waist up. For the TEAMS CALL scene we understand you may be cut off higher due to sitting at a desk/table.
SCENE 1: TEAMS CALL

You are sitting at your desk on a Teams Call (Team's is similar to Zoom if you haven't used it). A new member of your team is in the middle of a design presentation. You are listening and nodding along, you like what you see and hear.

Please use an actual laptop in the scene if possible and sit facing slightly off camera

This scene should last around :15 seconds. Multiple takes accepted but only one is required. No audio is required for this scene.
SCENE 2: FINAL PRODUCT

You are waking through the office to check on the final product process (walk into frame). You see Adam (new employee who was doing the presentation). he is immersed in his work. You tap him on the shoulder (do this towards camera) and he turns around. You congratulate him!

He holds up the finished presentation on his phone and you gestures towards his computer for a larger view. He pulls out his laptop and reaches INTO it and pulls out the finished product (this is not surprising). You smile in appreciate and you both examine the fabric and the gloves closely.

This scene should last around :15 seconds. Multiple takes accepted but only one is required. No audio is required for this scene.
