TECHNICAL SELF-TAPE INSTRUCTIONS
TECHNICAL INSTRUCTIONS:
- Record in the landscape / horizontal position (Sideways)
- Film your audition in a well-lit area. Your light source should come from behind the camera, not from behind you.
- Find an uncluttered area to film in where we can see you clearly. Ideally against a neutral backdrop.
- Record your audition in a private, quiet space with no other loud or distracting noises.
- Snow attire, jacket, pants, hat (beanie), gloves
- Please wear base layers ONLY for the slate, heavier layers for the scenes.
- WOMEN PLEASE DO NOT WEAR MAKEUP
SLATE / INTRODUCTION VIDEO:
Frame yourself in camera so you can be seen from head to toe. Look directly into the camera and answer the below questions.
1. What is your full name?
2. How tall are you?
3. Where are you located?
4. Are you represented by a talent agent? If so, who?
If you have glasses on, please take them off briefly and smile.
After you answer all questions smile with your teeth and then show us your side profiles.

FOCUS ON YOUR FACIAL EXPRESSIONS: All of these scenes are non-verbal, we really need to see how you can express these subtle emotions with your face. Feel free to look directly at or near the camera, we want to be able to see most of your face.
DIALOGUE: You are free to add some lines in here and there as you see fit, but please keep these moments mostly non-verbal.
SUBTLE NOT OVERLY DRAMATIC: We are looking for performances that feel genuine and authentic, nothing over dramatic or cheesy, we want to honor these real life experiences by portraying them realistically. Subtle is the name of the game here, don't go over the top.
REMEMBER THE CHARECTER DESCRIPTION FROM THE CASTING BREAKDOWN AND INCORPORATE THEM.

SCENE 1: BUS: (NO HAT IN THIS SCENE):
You are on a school mountaineering trip, riding the bus on the way to the mountain. Show us :15-30 of you laughing and talking with your friends. You point out the window at the mountain, the weather isn't looking the best but you are still excited.
SCENE 2: HIKE: (WEAR A BEANIE FOR THIS SCENE)
You are hiking up the side of the mountain and a storm has hit, the conditions are much worse than you expected. You are cold and tired but continue on.
SCENE 3: SNOW CAVE: (WEAR A BEANIE FOR THIS SCENE)
The storm has gotten a lot worse, you and your classmates/teachers have huddled tightly together in a snow cave to escape the elements and try to stay warm. You are exhausted, terrified and freezing, and in shock.
Show us around :30 of you sitting in this snow cave, make sure to not overdue the "freezing" element, you are not uncontrollably shaking. You have pulled yourself into a ball and most of this is seen in your face and small movements.
Please do not rush this scene, give it the time it requires to have it feel natural. Feel free to do multiple takes of this scene if you want to show us different versions on his reaction.
