TECHNICAL SELF-TAPE INSTRUCTIONS
TECHNICAL INSTRUCTIONS:
- Record in the landscape / horizontal position (Sideways)
- Film your audition in a well-lit area. Your light source should come from behind the camera, not from behind you.
- Find an uncluttered area to film in where we can see you clearly. Ideally against a neutral backdrop.
- Record your audition in a private, quiet space with no other loud or distracting noises.
- Snow attire, jacket, pants, beanie, gloves.
- Please wear base layers ONLY for the slate, heavier layers for the scenes.
SLATE / INTRODUCTION VIDEO:
Frame yourself in camera so you can be seen from head to toe. Look directly into the camera and answer the below questions.
1. What is your full name?
2. How tall are you?
3. Where are you located?
4. Are you represented by a talent agent? If so, who?
If you have glasses on, please take them off briefly and smile.
After you answer all questions smile with your teeth and then show us your side profiles.

SCENES:

All of these scenes are non-verbal, we really need to see how you can express these subtle emotions with your face and eyes. You are free to add some lines in here and there as you see fit, but please keep these moments mostly non-verbal. We are looking for performances that feel genuine and authentic, nothing over dramatic or cheesy, we want to honor these real life experiences by portraying them realistically.
Additional Role Details: Marion is the Dean of Students. She is helping lead a group of students on their annual mountaineering trip when things go very wrong. She is confident and strong.
All of these scenes are non-verbal, we really need to see how you can express these subtle emotions with your face and eyes. Marion is riding on the bus with her students on the way to their annual mountaineering trip. She is a cool friendly adult presence, supportive while still being an authority figure. Show us :15-20 of her interacting with her students, laughing, pointing out the window at the mountain, etc. You can record this with or without sound.
SCENE 3: THE HIKE
Marion is completely exhausted, worn out, cold and out of breathe. She approaches Father Tom and desperately begs to go down the mountain. Tom pushes her, in a way some would categorize at bullying, to continue on. She eventually gives in.
Again, you can record these with or without audio. Your facial expressions and physicality are whats important here!
SCENE 4: SNOW CAVE
Marion and the students have been caught in a blizzard, they have huddled closely in a snow cave to try to survive the elements but Marion is terrified and shivering. She slowly shifts to being hypothermic and despondent.
Please take your time with these scenes, feel free to send several versions of each scene if you want to show different reactions.
