TECHNICAL SELF-TAPE INSTRUCTIONS
TECHNICAL INSTRUCTIONS:
- Record in the landscape / horizontal position (Sideways)
- Film your audition in a well-lit area. Your light source should come from behind the camera, not from behind you.
- Find an uncluttered area to film in where we can see you clearly. Ideally against a neutral backdrop.
- Record your audition in a private, quiet space with no other loud or distracting noises.
- Snow attire, jacket, pants, hat (beanie), gloves.
- Please wear base layers ONLY for the slate, heavier layers for the scenes.
SLATE / INTRODUCTION VIDEO:
Frame yourself in camera so you can be seen from head to toe. Look directly into the camera and answer the below questions.
1. What is your full name?
2. How tall are you?
3. Where are you located?
4. Are you represented by a talent agent? If so, who?
If you have glasses on, please take them off briefly and smile.
After you answer all questions smile with your teeth and then show us your side profiles.

FOCUS ON YOUR FACIAL EXPRESSIONS: All of these scenes are non-verbal, we really need to see how you can express these subtle emotions with your face. Feel free to look directly at or near the camera, we want to be able to see most of your face.
DIALOGUE: You are free to add some lines in here and there as you see fit, but please keep these moments mostly non-verbal.
SUBTLE NOT OVERLY DRAMATIC: We are looking for performances that feel genuine and authentic, nothing over dramatic or cheesy, we want to honor these real life experiences by portraying them realistically. Subtle is the name of the game here, don't go over the top.
REMEMBER THE CHARECTER DESCRIPTION FROM THE CASTING BREAKDOWN AND INCORPORATE THEM.

Mick is on the bus on his way to an annual school mountaineering trip. He is excited for the climb but several students around him are nervous, he tries to comfort them.

SCENE 2: CHAPERONE (WEAR A BEANIE FOR THIS SCENE)
Mick has been climbing the mountain for hours and is cold and tired. He was just asked to chaperone John back down because John is sick. Mick is wracked with guilt about leaving his good friend who is nervous to keep climbing without him. But he is also relieved because he is cold and not dressed as warmly as he should be.

SCENE 3: BULLYING (BEANIE)
Mick has come across two of his teachers talking. One of them is bullying the other to keep going despite the poor conditions. He watches in quiet shock and disgust.
