SCENES:
FRAMING: Frame yourself in camera so you can be seen from the chest up.
FOCUS ON YOUR FACIAL EXPRESSIONS: All of these scenes are non-verbal, we really need to see how you can express these subtle emotions with your face. Feel free to look directly at or near the camera, we want to be able to see most of your face.
DIALOGUE: You are free to add some lines in here and there as you see fit, but please keep these moments mostly non-verbal.
SUBTLE NOT OVERLY DRAMATIC: We are looking for performances that feel genuine and authentic, nothing over dramatic or cheesy, we want to honor these real life experiences by portraying them realistically. Subtle is the name of the game here, don't go over the top.
REMEMBER THE CHARECTER DESCRIPTION FROM THE CASTING BREAKDOWN AND INCORPORATE THEM.
SCENE 1: BEFORE HIKE (NO HAT)
Ralph is an Outward Bound Guide taking a group of high school students on their annual mountaineering trip. He is a competent group leader, but isn't an Alpha type. All of the students just got off the bus and are prepping their gear. Show us around :20 of you dutifully checking on students, prepping and encouraging them, checking their gear, etc.
SCENE 2: SNOW CAVE (BEANIE)
Ralph is huddled in the snow cave with the students trying to stay warm and survive. He is exhausted, uncomfortable, freezing and worried. He is quietly weighing their survival options and assessing his co-leader's rapidly fading ability to command.
Please do not overdo the freezing element here, he is not shaking uncontrollably, but he is very cold.
SCENE 3: HELICOPTER (BEANIE)
Ralph made it down the mountain after leaving the snow cave to get help. He is now in a search and rescue helicopter scanning the mountain anxiously. He feels the weight of the world as he tries to assist in finding the rest of the group.
