CASTING DIRECTOR SCENES
If you are auditioning for the Casting Director, do the following scenes. If you are auditioning for the Casting Assistant, keep scrolling.
FRAMING: Frame yourself in camera so you can be seen from the waist up or sitting at a table facing slightly off camera. Feel free to lean on the table.
Do NOT read your lines directly into the camera.
TAKES: For each of the following lines please provide TWO DISTINCTLY DIFFERENT TAKES.
CONTEXT: You are a Casting Director auditioning talent for a spokesperson role. You are reacting to their different reads.
Overall you are a bit stern and unimpressed.
PROPS: If you'd like, you can use a pen/pencil, paper, glasses, etc.
Line 1:
"Thanks Austin, good stuff. We think you’re gonna make a great spokesman....
But, we cast you from your Instagram videos. You know, where
you’re doing like, ‘32 Year Old Tech CEO,’ and stuff like that."
Line 2:
“Good stuff, good stuff! But we need to hit a wider demographic here,
what about someone younger, like your Tech Bro?”
Line 3:
“Nice! But we wanna hit both sides of the isle,
can you do the impeached guy too?”
Line 4:
“Ahhh maybe this is all too political. What about the
guy that makes those electric cars and spaceships?”
Line 5:
"That’s brilliant! Exactly that! But can you do it as Taylor Swift?”
Feel free to improv any additional lines / feedback that you want to give "the talent" :)
